Good Friday Documentary
Good Friday 2009 was a bit of a washout. However, film maker Maz Lewis has documented the run-up to and actual event of Good Friday 2008.
“Good Friday” was produced to highlight the challenges faced by amateur cyclists whilst training for a track cycling event, particularly The Good Friday Meeting at Herne Hill Velodrome. During the making of this documentary, other elements also came to light, especially the long and fascinating history of the velodrome and the political demands facing the event organisers.
Herne Hill regulars should watch out for a quite a few familiar faces putting on their best interview voices.
The film has been selected for the New York Bicycle Film Festival which will be on 17th - 21st June, and the Southwark Bicycle Film Festival on the 15th of June.
