Open season
After three successful years of the Open Season series, Herne Hill's open race meetings on the first Saturday of every month are back! All events are promoted by a local club, doing their bit for the local race scene:
- 6th April - promoted by VC Londres
- 4th May - promoted by Rollapaluza CC
- 1st June - promoted by CC Hackney
- 6th July - promoted by Dulwich Paragon
- 3rd August - promoted by CS Grupetto (featuring Roadmans 25 mile scratch race)
- 7th September - promoted by East London Velo
Clubs will put their own stamp on their event. Some may add sprint events, some may add madison's, each event will have its own personality. All events will follow a similar structure though. Racing will be split into senior A and B categories, and youth Under 12 and Over 12. Racing starts at 2.30pm and all events are registered as British Cycling Regional C+ which means license points in each race. While there will be some special races on the programme, most races will be familiar and accessible to the average Track League rider.
Youths £3, Juniors £8, Seniors £15 - entry on the line. Each event has a guaranteed £500 in prize money, with prizes being given for every race in every category.
Open Season offers a relaxed but competitive environment and is very popular with our riders. Like many of our public events, it is family friendly and free to spectate, so come along to support your nearest and dearest and enjoy a great mix of racing and entertainment.
