Keirin 2013
25th August 2013
Back for a second year, Keirn 2013 is the first bike race meeting in the UK devoted to the fast-paced, exciting discipline of Keirin racing.
Keirin originates in Japan where it is the largest gambling sport so expect a lottery with a big jackpot so you’ll feel more involved with the racing, knowing that you can win cash! All profits of this will go to Herne Hill Velodrome and Rollapaluza Outreach.
Keirin is a mass-start Sprint Discipline where for the first few laps the 6-8 competitors are paced up to speed by a small motorbike (derny) before unleashing their final sprints to the line, it is fast, tactical and can get quite rough!
Expect the countries best sprinters showing the best local riders how its done. 2012s winner was Kian Emadi, this year representing Team GB at the world championships in the kilo and team sprint disciplines. There will also be Japaneses catering, bar and stalls. Entry is free for spectators.
Dave Creasy Six
15th September 2013
The third edition of the Dave Creasy Six will take place in September 2013. The event honor the memory of Herne Hill stalwart and popular coach Dave Creasy. Dave loved the Ghent Six’s, hence the theme of this race day, which is organized by VC Londres, the club he helped establish. The 6 hour programme includes racing for youth riders, followed by the showcase, crowd-pleasing madison events, and non-madison support races.
This is a packed day of racing with a real party atmosphere and is a big hit with spectators. Whats more, entry for spectators is free! You can expect food, drink, a cheesy ‘90s soundtrack, an excitable MC and podium girls, and of course excellent racing entertainment. It all makes for an authentic day out, Belgie style. Entry is free for spectators. Follow the updates on

This is one of our major spectator events of the year with beer, hot food, and great vantage points near the jumps and obstacles that riders tackle - all for free! Organisers Rollapaluza even bring their famous roller racing rigs for spectators to try in the beer tent. Entry is free for spectators.
