Training Camps AT HHV

HHV Development Centre Training Camps are designed to enable Youth A, and Junior riders to develop their skills, strength and fitness and have an exciting and engaging active week during the school holiday.

Taking on a holistic approach to training, we will centre each day around a high-quality road bike session coached by our experienced Level 2 and 3 British Cycling-qualified coaches; whilst also creating a rounded programme including rollers, track cycling (on some days), strength and conditioning, stretching, running, and education around structured training and nutrition.

Please read through all the following information on this page if you want to book onto the training camp, as it contains important information about what you need for each day, as well as our safeguarding practices and code of conduct for children and guardians.

Youth A & Juniors Training Camp
Various Holidays

During some school holidays we run a Development Centre Training Camp for Youth A and Junior categories.

See Rider HQ for upcoming dates.

The day will be structured to deliver a rounded approach to training, and will feature:

  • At least one road bike session

  • Rollers warm-up

  • Strength and Conditioning

  • Stretching

  • Running

You will need to bring your own road bike for this session

There will be a one-hour break and everyone must be self-sufficient and bring enough food and snacks for the whole session - there won’t be catering available on site and participants won’t be allowed off-site at break time under any circumstances.

You must arrive in plenty of time to be set up and ready for a rollers warm-up session at the start time. We have rollers you can use, however if you store your rollers at the track and want to use your own, you can.

Please read through all of the following information before coming to the Training Camp, as there is essential information about what you will need to bring as well as our code of conduct for children and guardians.

Development Pathway

The HHV training camp is designed to fit in with and compliment British Cycling’s Talent Development Centres and RSRs, in supporting young riders to take the next step and get a little more serious about their ambitions and performance within cycling. The high quality and varied training you’ll participate in at the training camp will have multiple benefits both to your cycling fitness, injury resilience, strength, and knowledge about training.

If you haven’t already been to any of British Cycling’s sessions, that’s OK! HHV’s Training Camp will be the perfect opportunity to take you from club rider to Development Centre rider. If you do want to take your cycling to the next level, training camp coaches will be able to speak to you about what that involves.

Talent Development Centres are suitable for Youth A, Youth B & Junior Club level riders who want a physically demanding session on with race skills and tactics. They occur throughout the winter at HHV and can be booked here.
