Can’t Get Enough Crit?
Check out our Adult Intermediate Crit sessions.
Intermediate crit sessions take our inner track crit skills sessions a bit further, and you'll work on building speed and racecraft with crit-specific intervals, as well as all the cornering, group riding and bike handling skills you’re used to.
It’s Open Season!
Sun 28th June - Velo Club Londres
What are Open Meetings?
Local cycling clubs play host to Open Meeting events. These track cycling events draw in the best riders from the South-East England and beyond. Each club brings a unique approach to their event, with music and commentary, and a varying programme of races.
Racing is free to watch at Herne Hill Velodrome and for spectators there’s no need to book in advance. Join us this summer at the track to enjoy some top notch live racing!
Jan’s Cafe is open with teas, coffee, beer, cider, wines, spirits, soft drinks, as well as warm food.

Everyone gets at least three goes on the course, with your best results across the heats deciding your overall placing on the night, and counting towards a series podium too.

Volunteering at HHV
Our fleet of bikes are maintained by generous and keen home mechanics, overseen by Jenni, a professional mechanic. We’ve got 2 bike fixing dates set in June: Monday 8 & Monday 29. Get in touch with Jenni if you’d like to get involved: jgwiazdowski@hhvt.org
If you’d like to volunteer but don’t want to get your hands dirty, click here for all our event support volunteering opportunities!
TRISHAW PILOTS WANTED
“Cycling Without Age project at the Time and Talents charity in Rotherhithe. We have three Christiania trishaws which our volunteers use to take out our older members. Our members are often experiencing isolation through mobility issues, and it is great for them to be taken out to local parks or places of interest.”
“I am reaching out to local cycle projects to recruit more volunteers for the project as the role of trishaw ‘pilot’ requires a level of confidence associated with experienced city cyclists. The volunteer will have a two-hour practical training along with a four-hour general volunteer training. Because the volunteers work with vulnerable adults this will include safeguarding and boundary training.”

That’s all for now friends.
Until next time, keep turning left!
