It's back! Muddy Hell returns to Herne Hill Velodrome with cyclo-cross racing for all ages and categories with seasonal fancy dress encouraged and rewarded. Expect spooktacular features to challenge your riding and to push your racing til your legs are on fire: riders will race through our pumpkin patch, foggy forest and hair-raising hurdles. With designated fan zones around the course and great food and drink this will be an event enjoyed by racers and spectators alike. Supported by Rapha UK expect some top prizes and fun surprises! There will be races for Youth U12, Youth U16, a fun race for all over-16s, and ranking races for men and women (over 16). All adult racing will take place under lights / during darkness!

Getting to HHV

We would like to encourage you to make a sustainable journey - there will be a large bike parking facility available on site. Car parking will be limited to participants only. Parking will get full quickly, so please car share if you can, come by bike, or be prepared to drop off and park nearby (Gallery Road is 5 mins walk with extensive free parking) - please do not block local residents driveways.

VOLUNTEER

As with all our events we rely on volunteers to help make the racing safe and supported. If you can lend us a hand in the cafe serving drinks, or with course set up or with marshaling the event, you can find out more by hitting the button below.

  • Competition Terms & Conditions:

    The competition opens at 2:30 PM on 17th October 2025 and closes at 11:59 PM on 8th November 2025. Only entries submitted during this period will be considered valid.

    Entry is open to residents of the United Kingdom only.

    Participants must be 18 years or older to enter, and only one entry per person will be accepted.

    One winner will be selected at random from all eligible entries.

    PRIZE : The winner and a friend will each receive a Rapha Pro Team Shadow jersey. Available in Men’s and Women’s styles.

    The prize is non-transferable, and no cash or alternative prizes will be offered. Prizes are subject to availability, and we reserve the right to substitute items of equal value if necessary due to unforeseen circumstances.

    The winner will be contacted via direct message from @hernehillvelodrome within 7 days of the competition closing, and will also be announced on the @hernehillvelodrome Instagram channel. Delivery times may vary depending on the winner’s location.

    All decisions regarding this competition are final. No further correspondence will be entered into.
