Our Balance Bike Bonanza!
Thursday 7th November — Herne Hill Velodrome
Join us for our new Halloween balance bike celebration, the Pumpkin Patch Dash! This year’s event gives young riders a refreshed and exciting way to enjoy the autumn festivities with us — all before Muddy Hell, our big cyclocross racing event later that day.
We’ll have face‑painting, drawing and painting, and of course plenty of cycling — all included in the ticket price. At HHV, we love balance biking and want to celebrate the freedom it gives young riders, with you.
Who’s it for?
This event is designed for children aged 2–8 years, whether they’re brand new to balance bikes or already confident riders. Children who can already ride pedal bikes are very welcome and can still enjoy the fast and furious racing.
Each child needs their own ticket.
Parents/guardians do not need to buy tickets for themselves.
VOLUNTEERS WANTED 🎇
If you missed out on tickets for our Sold Out fireworks fundraiser on the 31st of October, fret not - you can help us out by volunteering on the night! Experience the joyful chaos that is FHHV Fireworks AND help the velodrome out in one fell swoop.
If Muddy Hell CX is more your thing, we’re also looking for volunteers for course building on the 6th of November, and cafe assisting + event stewarding on the 7th of November. Volunteering is a great way to help everyone have a good time, and to give something back to the velodrome.

Perimenopause on the Bike:
Bone Health, Muscle, and Recovery for Riders in Their 30s onwards
Thu 12 Nov
7–8:30pm
FREE entry, donations appreciated
Talk and Q&A with Nutritional Therapist and Functional Medicine Practitioner Tess Strom
Perimenopause changes how the body responds to training, but most cyclists are never told what to expect or how to work with it. Join Nutritional Therapist and Functional Medicine Practitioner Tess Strom as she looks at three areas that shift during this stage of life and matter most for anyone still putting in the miles: bone health, muscle retention and recovery. Practical and evidence-based, and relevant for riders in their 30s upwards, whether you're already noticing these changes or keen to know what's ahead.
Tickets are free, but seating is limited, so please book a spot!

Did you know that we’re a charity? (Registered number 1140128, check us out on the Register of Charities if you fancy it.)
Being a charity has its perks (and its challenges), one of which is fundraising! Not an easy task to get people to part with their hard earned cash, but this little add on for your online shopping could give us a lil boost.
Herne Hill Velodrome is now registered with easyfundraising, which means you can help us for FREE. Over 8,000 retailers (like eBay, John Lewis & Partners, Argos, ASOS, Expedia, Just Eat, and Uswitch) will donate to us when you use easyfundraising to shop with them. All you need to do is sign up and remember to use easyfundraising whenever you shop online. These donations really mount up, so please sign up to support us here.
If you use Chrome browser, you can add an easyfundraising extension that does half the work for you. Enable the Donation Reminder, shop as normal and you’ll get a pop up when a retailer will donate to Herne Hill Velodrome.
Make sure you always click to get your donation even if you're not sure you'll go on to buy. If you do end up buying something they’ll catch your donation, and if you don't shop then it won't affect your visit.
Thank you for thinking of us when you shop!
