SLGP Visitor Information
Hello fans! Below you'll find everything you need to know for a super event experience.
If you’re planning on coming to HHV for the South London Grand Prix, read everything below.
Major highlights & changes:
- no glass or alcohol will be allowed in on site
- racing starts at 1.15pm on SATURDAY now
Getting to Herne Hill Velodrome
We encourage visitors to make a sustainable journey and have plenty of bike parking available on site, but please bring a flexible lock.
We have a small cul-de-sac on our driveway where hire e-bikes can be parked, but please DO NOT PARK ON BURBAGE ROAD or leave bikes on the pavement. It's anti-social and we want to make sure walkways are always kept clear for everyone to access.
We're closest to Herne Hill station (trains run to/from London Victoria, London Blackfriars and London St Pancras) and North Dulwich station (trains run to/from London Bridge), both a 10 min walk to our site.
- NO GENERAL CAR PARKING AVAILABLE -
If you need accessible parking for you and your party, please email us in advance of arrival and we will let you know if we have any available spaces.
Visit the travel and parking section on our website for more info.
On Arrival
Bag checks and ticketing will take place on arrival by our team of volunteers and security.
Please do not bring any glass to site: we operate a no glass policy and you will be asked to leave any glass items at the gate.
In addition, no alcohol will be allowed to be brought inside.
Please buy any additional tickets in advance via our website, from Ticket Tailor only.
Dogs are welcome on a lead, but please be aware that it will be crowded and that loud starter pistols are used at track racing.
Seating and Site
Seating is unreserved and unallocated, however, there are plenty of seats available in our grandstands as well as on our brand new picnic benches around the track edge, and lots of standing room for visitors.
The site is outdoors with much of the seating uncovered; please be prepared for the weather conditions (sunscreen, extra layers etc.). Most seating is accessible via tarmac path, however, some of the site is unpaved, with turf / woodland paths.
Food and Drink
Please support our fantastic on site cafe and bar: Jan’s Cafe has a wide selection of snacks and drinks with Bianca Road Brew Co.craft beers, Volcano Coffee, and plenty of soft drinks, and serves Vinca Wine and Shandy Shack too. With hot fresh frites, and other snacks it’s the perfect place to grab refreshments and will be open throughout the event.
If you fancy some great food to accompany your day out we’re being supported at the event by Gosia’s Table - bringing Caribbean flavours with a modern twist and Aria Artisan Pizza - authentic award winning classic Italian pizza. All vendors have vegetarian and vegan options.
Bring a reusable water bottle with you: there are drinking water taps available on site to refill during the events.
