Open House Festival @HHV 🗝️
Friday 18 September
6 - 8.30pm
Ride Yer Bike & Watch HHV Films
Architects love cycling, so by extension they love Herne Hill Velodrome - especially thanks to our amazing 2017 building design by Hopkins Architects!
In celebration of our unusual structure on Friday 18 September from 6-8.30pm we will be hosting an open cycling session on the track, and screening old-timey films of HHV in its early days for the London Open House Festival.
Bring your bike and have a loop round our historic track. The cafe will be open for light refreshments, so come and marvel at our vaulted pavilion ceilings, and exotic wood panelling throughout.
If you are passionate about HHV and architecture, we’re looking for folks who are happy to talk to visitors about the building and our history. Get in touch with Thea: tsmith@hhvt.org

Wednesday the 16th of September is the penultimate Track League at HHV, followed by the finale on Wednesday 23rd.
Come spend the last legs of British Summer Time hanging out and watching local track athletes ride around in circles. We will have hot and cold drinks, as well as fresh frites to munch on. Don’t forget you can also order Yard Sale Pizza and save on delivery (AND the velodrome gets a small cut - win/win!)

SAVE THE DATE:
Ridgeback, Lazer, and Knog - oh my!
Discerning children who have attended our cycling activities in the last month will have noticed we have a brand new bike brand for our hire fleet. The cat’s out of the bag: we’re pleased to announce a multi-year partnership with Madison/Sportline, who are generously supporting Herne Hill Velodrome through their specialist children’s cycle brand, Ridgeback Kids.
As a newly minted Ridgeback Skills School centre, we have upgraded our entire youth fleet with lightweight Ridgeback bikes and premium Lazer helmets. This means your children will have access to the absolute best equipment during our popular Learn to Cycle, Pedal Bike Club, and Youth Cycle Skills sessions.
Not only that, but Knog rechargeable Blinders will be available soon at our off-road trail sessions. If you forget your lights, not to worry! We’ve got you covered. And with nights drawing closer, this is enlightening news.
A big thank you to Madison/Sportline - if you like what you see here, we will soon have a discount code to purchase said items via their public facing site, Freewheel.
